Event Details
We cannot wait to celebrate with you! Below is a general overview of the weekend so you can begin planning your travel. Full details, locations, and exact timings will be shared with your formal invitation and updated on this page closer to the wedding.
Friday – Shabbat & Welcome Dinner (Evening)
We’ll begin the weekend with Shabbat services; evening prayers to gently usher in the Sabbath with intention. All are warmly invited to join or simply observe, and no familiarity is needed. A Kosher Dinner, including Shabbat customs, will follow shortly thereafter.
Attire: Elevated
We recommend dressing with the same elegance and respect you would bring to a church or synagogue gathering.
Saturday – Traditional Nigerian Wedding (Evening)
Our Nigerian Traditional Wedding will take place on Saturday evening. For women, we recommend long colorful dresses; for men, we recommend richly colored suits or polished tunic-style shirts with tailored trousers. More detailed guidance will come with the formal invitation.
Part of the festivities will include “spraying” money — a symbolic gesture of blessing, joy, and support for a couple as they begin their new life together. If you’d like to participate, we kindly ask that you bring small-denomination U.S. dollar bills so you can join in the celebration. There is absolutely no obligation to participate — your presence, love, and best wishes are what mean the most to us. Thank you for helping us honor this meaningful tradition.
Transportation will be provided
Attire: Traditional Nigerian or Festive
Guests without traditional Nigerian clothing are welcome to wear vibrant, celebratory eveningwear.
Sunday – Jewish Wedding & Reception (Afternoon into Late Evening)
We’ll conclude the weekend with our Jewish Wedding ceremony and reception.
Transportation will be provided
Attire: Black Tie
For this celebration we kindly request black tie—tuxedos for men and long gowns or formal evening wear for women.
